Melinda French Gates, Trinity '86 and Fuqua '87, and David Rubenstein, Trinity ’70, committed Wednesday to donating a majority of their wealth to charity by taking the Giving Pledge, an effort to encourage the wealthiest individuals and families to return their fortunes to philanthropy.

Matthew Ball, Trinity '10, may be revolutionizing the way students, faculty and staff take the bus at Duke. In collaboration with the Office of Information Technology and Parking and Transportation Services, Ball recently launched an alpha version of DuTrack, a GPS-based bus tracking system that he developed for Duke bus-goers.

Muhammad Yunus's spot on the popular television show will focus on the Grameen Bank—which he founded—and microcredit, according to the BBC. Yunus, who spoke served as the commencement speaker in May, is considered the father of microfinance—a technique to eliminate poverty by providing poor indivduals with small loans. In 2006, Yunus won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Duke-Semans mansion, which was originally owned by Benjamin N. Duke, sold for $44 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. Duke's descendants owed the mansion until for over a century before selling it in 2006 for $40 million.
